When comparing automatic sliding glass door manufacturers in China for an OEM/ODM project, start with the product your business intends to sell or install. A distributor building a repeatable product range needs an agreed configuration and a way to control later changes. A contractor ordering for one building needs a package that fits the opening and the local installation work.

Both buyers need clear responsibilities. Establish who provides the design, what the factory supplies, how the first order will be accepted and what must stay consistent on the next order. This guide sets out those decisions and explains how to prepare an OEM/ODM discussion with SEPPES, the publisher of this article.

Define Your OEM/ODM Project Before Comparing Manufacturers

Write a short purchasing brief before requesting prices. State whether you need a product for your own brand, a repeat supply arrangement or a door package for a named project. Include the intended market, entrance use and which parts your team plans to source locally.

For a product range, separate the configuration you want to repeat from options that may vary between orders. Door arrangement, glazing, finish and controls should have recognizable references. For a building project, organize requirements by opening so that different entrances do not become one ambiguous specification.

Consider an importer planning to use the same operator configuration for several locally fabricated entrances. The supplier needs the proposed door construction and interface details to assess that combination. If those entrances use different leaves or controls, identify the variations in the brief.

If you are still building a shortlist, use the China automatic sliding glass door brand guide. Apply the OEM/ODM questions below to each candidate whose product scope fits your brief.

Clarify Design and Manufacturing Responsibilities

In an OEM discussion, buyers often bring an existing design or defined specification for manufacturing. In an ODM discussion, they may ask the manufacturer to propose or adapt a design. Companies use these terms differently, so describe the work you expect rather than relying on the label alone.

Distinguish a branding change, an adjustment to an existing configuration and new design work. Each needs a different review. A logo request does not establish who owns a design, which engineering documents will be provided or whether a new configuration has been evaluated.

Assign a person on each side to approve drawings and changes. Discuss any requirements for design ownership, tooling, confidentiality or exclusivity separately and record the agreed terms. These should not be inferred from a general OEM/ODM offer.

Agree who provides, checks and approves each item

Confirm the Supply Scope

Ask every candidate to identify the package being quoted. A complete sliding entrance, a complete operating assembly and a box of individual components are different purchases. Comparing their totals without checking the contents leaves the buyer to discover the missing work later.

Complete automatic sliding glass doors

Define the door structure and operating equipment together. The itemized proposal should identify the door leaves, glazing, profiles, operator, sensors and other equipment included in that particular order. Fixed panels, locking equipment and access devices need explicit inclusion or exclusion.

Complete sliding-door operator systems

Where your team sources the door construction locally, confirm the operator assembly against the intended leaves, mounting conditions and control requirements. SEPPES supplies complete automatic sliding-door operator systems separately without door leaves. This offer is not restricted to existing customers or large-volume orders.

Confirm the contents even when the quotation says “complete operator system.” That description does not automatically include every sensor, access device or frame needed at the entrance. Record who supplies, connects and checks each interface.

Individual parts and accessories

SEPPES generally supplies individual components for existing customers' replacement, spare-part and repair needs. Sufficiently large standalone component orders can be reviewed separately, subject to the requested items, quantities and compatibility. Do not treat this parts policy as a restriction on complete operator assemblies.

Evaluate Customization and Engineering Support

Put customization requests alongside the information needed to assess them. An appearance request may need a finish reference; a control request needs the required operating behavior and interface details. When requesting a size change, provide the opening layout and available mounting space.

For branding, submit the proposed artwork, label locations and identification requirements. Ask which requests can be accommodated and how the artwork will be approved. Confirm document language, model references, packing labels and any retail or distributor packaging separately from the entrance specification.

Ask which drawings and interface records the manufacturer can provide for your order, and which design decisions your local team must resolve. For example, identify who reviews the connection between the supplied controller and locally sourced access equipment. Keep unresolved interfaces on the review list until both sides agree the arrangement.

The sliding-door customization guide covers individual configuration choices. For OEM/ODM sourcing, the additional task is to identify which approved choices must carry through into every relevant order.

Agree on Samples, Production Checks and Repeat Orders

Decide what the sample must demonstrate

Before ordering a sample, agree what you will receive and what you will check. A finish sample, operator assembly and complete entrance answer different questions. Set out the configuration, drawings, inspection method, acceptance criteria and person responsible for approval.

Record any differences between the sample and the intended production order. If local glazing or access equipment is outside the sample package, its integration still needs review. Sample approval should identify the items actually checked and the questions still open.

Carry the approval into production

Keep the approved drawing revision, component list, finish reference and agreed operating requirements with the order. Discuss the inspection records you need and when you will review them. These documents give both sides a common reference when a later question concerns what was agreed.

Ask how proposed substitutions will be communicated before manufacture. A different component may affect mounting, interfaces or service procedures even when the product description stays the same. Agree who reviews the change, which documents need updating and whether further checks are required.

Give repeat orders their own confirmation

Reference the previous order and approved configuration, then state any changes in destination, quantity, branding or entrance use. Ask the manufacturer to confirm whether its proposed configuration or available components have changed. “Same as last time” needs a traceable order reference.

Use the comparison table below with written proposals. A clear response should show what a manufacturer will supply and what it needs from your team. An unanswered item remains a follow-up question, not an assumed capability.

How SEPPES Supports OEM/ODM Discussions

SEPPES is the brand of Seppes Door Industry (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., a source manufacturer and OEM/ODM solution provider founded in 2011. Its commercial entrance offer includes automatic sliding doors, with complete door systems as the primary supply focus and complete sliding-door operator systems also available separately.

SEPPES supports requirement review, door and system configuration, available drawing and interface coordination, production preparation, inspection and export packaging. OEM/ODM discussions can include product scope, branding, labels, packaging and available documentation. Specific deliverables depend on the technical review and agreed order.

The SEPPES manufacturing and project-support overview provides company and process information. Use it to prepare questions about your package; company background alone does not establish that every requested design or branding change is available.

After delivery, SEPPES provides remote online installation guidance and remote troubleshooting for the confirmed supplied scope. Your project needs an agreed local installation, commissioning and maintenance arrangement. Clarify who will communicate with SEPPES, identify equipment and coordinate any replacement-part review.

Prepare Your OEM/ODM Inquiry

Your first inquiry can identify decisions that are still open. Send the information already available and describe the help you need. A useful brief includes:

  • Your company role, target market and whether this is a brand product, repeat sourcing arrangement or building project.
  • The preferred door arrangement, opening dimensions, available drawings or photographs and locally supplied door construction.
  • The requested package: complete doors or complete operator systems, with sensors, controls and other items identified separately.
  • Expected initial quantities and a clearly labeled estimate of later demand, plus the requested destination and schedule.
  • Branding, artwork, identification, packaging and document requests, including any sample approval needs.
  • The person responsible for technical approval and the local team handling installation and commissioning.

Send your brief to SEPPES with the questions you need resolved before a quotation or sample proposal. Agree sample charges, any development work and production timing for the specific order. Use the automatic door quotation checklist if you need a fuller list of project inputs.

OEM/ODM Questions Buyers Ask

Can I start an OEM/ODM discussion without a complete door design?

Yes. Share your intended use, target market, preferred door arrangement, available dimensions and required supply scope. Identify the design work you need help with so SEPPES can review the request; a discussion does not confirm that every development request can be accepted.

Can SEPPES supply the operator system without glass door leaves?

Yes. Complete automatic sliding-door operator systems can be supplied separately without door leaves. Confirm the locally supplied door construction, mounting conditions, interfaces and itemized assembly contents. This complete-system offer is not limited to existing customers or large-volume orders.

Can my logo, labels and packaging be included in an OEM order?

Include those requests in your brief for review. Provide artwork and identification requirements, then confirm the available methods, approved design, quantities and commercial terms in writing. Do not assume that every branding or packaging request is included in the base quotation.

How do I confirm the minimum order and sample lead time?

Ask SEPPES for written terms covering the exact package, quantity and customization scope. Confirm sample charges, any development work and the proposed schedule before ordering. Terms for an operator assembly should not be assumed to apply to an individual component or a new design request.

Who installs and services the doors in the destination country?

Arrange the local installation, commissioning and maintenance team as part of your project. SEPPES provides remote online installation guidance and troubleshooting for the confirmed supplied scope. Agree the communication route and replacement-part requirements before ordering.
